What is the disorder called when your mind literally makes up something for you to fear or be paranoid about?

Health FAQs
What if your mind constantly makes you fear something that is not real or true? Like it has you questioning your health or your sexual orientation? What about when it has you questioning your sanity? Feel like your about to go crazy? Where are all these unwanted thoughts coming from? And why? Is it a serious mental disorder?
Can staying home very often contribute to this?

Well that could be OCD, because OCD makes people have irrational and unwanted thoughts, i have OCD and i get those all the time, staying home can affect it and make it worse because you have more time on your hands to think about it, you need to distract yourself and they won’t bother you as much, and you are not insane so don’t even consider that an option. If it is a heavy burden i would suggest seeking medical help from a psychiatrist.

It sounds to me like Generalized Anxiety Disorder. Do you constantly worry about everything, all the time like your health and finances? See a therapist if it bothers you that much.
