what do you call it when the wartons ducts ( you that thing under your tongue ) turns yellow? is it serious ?

i saw my moms & hers was yelllow , i was scared . could it be something ? or just showing bad oral hygiene ?

Hello…Ok, the Wharton’s duct provides about 80% of the calculi in your mouth and it’s subject to getting stopped up like any other duct in your body…The Wharton’s duct can be stopped up with stones just like the gallbladder as an example. I would have to guess that your’s is stopped up. Because there can be other issues at play you need to see an Oral Surgeon ASAP…Good luck and I wish you well.

More than likely just fatty deposits that are visible. The tissue is very thin in that area. If there are no symptoms or swelling I wouldn’t be concerned. Good luck

That is totally unusual. Maybe she should go in for a checkup.
