I don’t know what the problem is. I brush my teeth 3 times a day. Once in the morning after breakfast, once afterschool, and once at night before bed. I also floss twice a day (in the morning and at night). I even brush my tongue. I also gargle with listerine until someone told me Listerine may be the cause of my bad breath (because it contains alcohol), so I switched to diluting peroxide with water and gargled with that, and my breath still smells bad. I chew mints/gum and it doesn’t help at all. It doesn’t even mask the odor. I don’t smoke/drink. I don’t drink coffee neither. I usually either drink water or fruit juice. I rarely eat anything with onions or garlic. And I go to the dentist every six months. I don’t think my dentist knows I have bad breath because I rarely talk to her, and if I do my hand is usually by my mouth trying to cover the odor. She always tells me I have great hygiene, but for some reason everytime she says it my confidence level goes down. My younger brother says I have bad breath, but he doesn’t seem to know why, since I have great oral hygiene. I’ve never even had a cavity. People at school sometimes ditch me because of my breath. One guy gave me a tub of toothpaste for Valentine’s Day earlier this year. That literally crushed me in a million pieces. I went in the bathroom and started crying. I’ve only had one boyfriend and he broke up with me because he couldn’t put up with my breath anymore, so since then I just gave up with dating people. I don’t have any friends because people don’t want to hang around me because of my breath. They think that people with bad breath don’t brush their teeth, which is not always true. I brush and brush and 20 minutes later the smell comes back. Please can someone help me? I’m tired of this problem. It has ruined my social life. I feel powerless.

I recently started flossing, I’m in my teenage years, parents never really used floss
My dentist said I hsould really start flossing, So I did,
She said I bled alot when she was cleaning out my teeth,
So For about 2 weeks now, I’ve been having better oral hygiene,
I was wondering, When I could see improvements? As my gums are somewhat swollen.

I brush twice a day, i use to brush 3-4 times but i cut down because i didnt want to harm my gums, they r pretty white already i guess but i am not satisfied with them, ive never had a cavity/oral problem, When i do my oral hygiene i
-Brush
-MouthWash
-Floss
-A Cleaning Gel

I was Thinking About The Crest 3D White Whitestrips Professional Effects, although 55$ i heard they are good, and dont cause teeth sensitivity which i ALREADY have.

First off, I do not smoke tobacco. However, I do occasionally smoke weed and by occasionally, I mean once or twice a week tops.
Next week I’m going to the oral surgeon to get the posts for my implants put in. Will my occasional pot smoking be a problem?
Also, I’ll be having a dental bridge during the time that the implant posts fuse with the bone. Will the bridge be helpful in protecting the implants from smoke?

I do have excellent oral hygiene and once again, I only smoke pot occasionally.

Thanks for your help Yahoo Answerers!

The past few years ive suffered from depression, I had no interest what so ever in taking care of myself, and i let my oral hygiene go big time. Which resulted in bleeding gums. For the past month ive been brushing twice a day, flossing after every meal, and using a verity of rinses. The bleeding is not as bad as it was, but just recently ive been feeling a bruise like pain when i touche/press my jaw line, a few days after the pain started ive noticed that my gums are much more sensitive then they ever have been in the past. I’m 15 years old and greatly regret my lack of oral hygiene. In the way back of my mouth i can feel my tooth, when i feel the bump with my tongue it feels like its angle-ing itself so that it rests on top of the molar next to it, but the tooth has not yet broken the surface of the gum. I don’t know what could be causing the pain.
