I was really bad in oral hygiene for a couple years, as in I would only brush in the mornings and would do it as quickly as I could, so eventually that caught up with me, I started having bad breath, starting having an irritating feeling in my mouth, and even pus afterwards and during I brushed. So I completely changed my oral hygiene, I literally brush 5-6 times(in a row) in the mornings and at nights, I also floss at least once a day, as well as use a homemade mouth rinse that is made of salt and baking soda….the thing is I have gone to 2 dentists, they did a regular checkup, took x-rays, and did the little mirror and pointy thing, and they said my teeth were fine, I told them my problems and they basically told me that I’m crazy…and I know I am not because you can tell when people think your breath is offensive and I’ve had people tell me that not to mention I always have a bad taste in my mouth…and it has destroyed my social life and crippled my confidence. What should I do?
Also like to add that my teeth are far from perfectly white. So I don’t have a smile I can be proud of either.

Recently, I’ve been waking up with a thick layer of white gunk on my tongue. I have not changed any of my oral hygiene. I stick to it faithfully. My dentist says it is not oral thrust because it is not in patches and doesn’t bleed when scraped off. I’ve been using a tongue scraper, but it continues every morning. It seems to get better after I eat or drink. I’ve tried mouth washes, peroxide, etc. and can’t get it to stop forming. The part that puzzles me is that it just recently started. Any answers will be greatly appreciated.

For better oral hygiene and oxygen introduced into mouth, provided you have no metal; fillings, bridge etc…
Totally holistic wish to include this in my regimen along with purified Bakiing Soda.

thanx

ie; Water Pik
In addition to (obviously) brushing twice a day….
I wonder if they’re a wasteful purchase or a wise investment in oral hygiene?
Are they harmful or helpful to the gums and do they truly assist as much as is advertised in keeping plaque and tarter from building up?
Any dentists or hygienists out there have any info?
Thank you all for sharing your experience. :o)

For example, at night after flossing and brushing teeth, i gargle with salt water as a rinse then go to sleep. It’ soppose to be good for oral hygiene and your gums but will it do any bad to your teeth? like cavities wise

I am a cna, and I want to start making extra money. I was wondering what is a reasonable price to charge a patient for a bath visit.
Which involves bathing, oral hygiene, dressing, shaving, and transfer (if necessary).

A friend of mine has loose teeth due to letting his oral hygiene go for a year or two. He’s changed his ways in the last two years, and one thing he does is use a waterpik every day to keep them extra clean, hoping to save the several loose teeth he now has. He also rinses with various things, such as Listerine, several times a day. He recently had a tooth come out while he was brushing, and had lost another one about 4 months ago. His mom’s dentist told him to stop using the waterpik immediately, but other dentists he’s told about his cleaning regimen haven’t mentioned that it could be harmful. He really likes using the waterpik. We were hoping to hear other opinions about this. Thanks.

My husband, who I have been married to for 2 years, doesn’t seem to give a lick about his oral hygiene. Many times he won’t brush before he comes to bed, and I know that sometimes he doesn’t even brush in the morning. It is so sick. Before we even really started dating, I expressed my pet peeve about people who don’t have nice teeth. He tells me he has never taken care of his teeth as well as he does now that I am in his life. What?? Before we got married I sent him to BriteSmile for 0 and his teeth looked incredible when they were done with him.

Now, it seems like his teeth are getting yellowed again and it’s only been 2 years. He wants to have sex and his mouth is so nasty that I don’t want to kiss him. Sometimes he wants to do oral on me, but when I know he hasn’t brushed, I don’t want to. It freaks me out. Also, we are in counseling & our therapist has gross teeth too. I don’t know what help she’d be. I have made suggestions to him over and over. Any advice?

At the gummy part of my top teeth, the gums are quite red and sore. Is this just because lately i’ve been feeling quite run down with a typical summer cold? Or do I need to improve my oral hygiene? Thanks!
