I have a lot of moles and most of them all of my life. I have fair skin and would be susceptible to melanoma. But what I’ve never been able to find out, does it start with a mole that has always been there or does the mole show up later in life and turn into melanoma? I have no suspicious moles, I was just wondering. thanks

How long does it take a cancerous mole to start spreading to other parts of the body?

Yes, yes, I already know what melanoma is, and I should "contact your dermatologist asap". I’ve already seen these repetitive answers on every question on the net about melanoma.

Please, I just need a time frame, from when the mole has just turned malignant to when it starts to spread to the lymph nodes.
32 years? Did you mean weeks maybe?
Thank you both for very informative answers.

My aunt has melanoma of the eye and tomorrow shes going in to get the laser surgery done.
How long does it take and the recovery?
Will she be able to go home that same day? Or stay over a night?

About a month ago I had surgery on my lower leg for melanoma skin cancer. I would like to know if anyone has any advice on what the best products are to use on the wound to promote healing. My doctor said hydrogen peroxide and vaseline but I’ve been told that this may not be the right treatment. Any suggestions?
