I am 20 and Had a back operation a few weeks ago I am doing better now. The first week after the operation I was druged up sleeping most of the time and the hospital Had me in diapers. I was shocked!!!! after I could sit up and move I used a bedpan. Is this normal? I was very humilated to be in pampers at 20. Now I will be going to a rehab for 6 weeks and I was told I will be in Diapers there for the first week untill I show signs of porgress. Is this what they do?
I work 60 hours per week, I need my 8 hours, I always wake up after 4 hours to pee, and then it takes me a while to go back sleep. Isn’t just easier to wear diapers to bed and not lose any of my sleeping time?
When I was a little boy (4 yo), I suffered from Fecal Impaction. I’ve always had memories of being a child and being unable to go to the bathroom, which really seemed to upset my parents. Enough in fact for them to take me to the ER when I was crying and unable to go to the bathroom one night.
How my parents dealt with this traumatized me I believe. After we left the hospital, I remember my parents buying diapers for me in a drug store on the way home, which upset me very much. I was placed back in diapers for a while (although I don’t know how quite long) after this event.
I remember both by Mom and Dad giving me a suppository and then diapering me afterwards, which went on for a while. This humiliated me a great deal and has really effected me in a very negative and profound way. I won’t get into all of the psychological repercussions of this. I was placed in diapers later maybe even up to age 6 for other reasons. But, I’m writing this b/c after having these memories
all of my life, it prompted me to write to every hospital I could think of in the area I was living when I was a child at the time of this event when I was 20 years of age. I did this in order to see if these memories were correct, and once I recieved a medical record confirming my memories, I confronted my parents and asked them why I was placed in diapers again, & told them how this action affected me psychologically. My mother had said that the doctor in the hospital placed me in diapers after giving me in an enema in the hospital, and that he recommended diapers to be used later. What makes no sense to me about this is if I was able to have a bowel movement, why would further suppositoriesneed to be administered, & more importantly, why would diapers have to be used in conjuction with supossitories when I was already toilet trained?I have so much anger towards the shame & humiliation they have bestowed upon me.I wanted to ask if there was an MD out there who can tell me if diapers
were really necessary to be used with suppositories after I was taken to the hospital,or were my parents just moronic? I think they should have known better to humiliate a child like that, but I’m interested in a medical professionals point of view.
I have shown the medical record to an MD of mine in the past and he had stated "Your parents put youback in diapers over this?" I wonder what another MD would think.
For those who are interested. I’m a 26 year old guy.

I recently heard from a girlfriend that does market research that after a survey in 2005 of women ages 19-44 they found that about 6% are using an adult diaper for *convenience* during long trips, at shows/sports watching to avoid long women’s bathroom lines, flights, etc. This company is now referring to them as "feminine diapers" (like feminine napkins). These are healthy women with no incontinence problems – just convenience. Can you let me know if you have ever done this? Do they work well? I have thought about it – but not seriously until now.
Please respond especially if you have done this. Do they work well, feel dry, etc? I’m considering it. Also, since most of you will be "ewww" and so on, please leave that off, since I’d like to hear *why* they are used for convenience.
