I take an oral contraceptive. I’ve been off amoxicillin for almost a week now. How long until my birth control is effective again?

My partner and I are planning on starting to use the Birth Control pill. I’ve heard that it takes some time to start working. If this is true how long do you have to take the pill before it starts working it’s effects on the body. Thanks!

I’ve always wondered this. If you are taking birth control and you get pregnant, how would you be able to tell? I know my birth control gives me a shorter and lighter period. If I were to miss, I probably wouldn’t tell or think about it. (I do keep track, however.) What would be the effects on the baby if you didn’t realize (or took a while) and continued to take birth control?
I know that birth control pills are pretty effective, but they are not 100%. On the chance, they do fail for some reason, I was kind of curious.

I’ve been on various types of birth control for the past 2 years. They were all fairly low dosage, nothing too strong. But I have come to the conclusion that birth control in general is causing my MAJOR mood issues, such as anger, irriatability out bursts. A tiny little thing can instantly make me mad and I can feel my blood pumping harder through my body. I want to be happy again, and want these chemicals out of my body. How long does it take to clear my system?

So the doctor put me on antibiotics for a week, just so happens to be the week im on the placebo pill, suppose to get period wednesday. How long will antibiotic affect birth control once I start a new pack on Sunday?
