Question by Phyre: Is A & D: First Aid Ointment okay for tattoos?
I got a tattoo Saturday, the 8th, as a birthday present. It turned out great & it’s one I’ve always wanted but at the place I got it done said just use A & D ointment. Well, at the store there was A & D that was supposed to be for diaper rash & then A & D: First Aid that seemed better for scars & such. I figured a tattoo is kinda like a scar in a way? So I got that but a friend said that the first aid type might speed the healing and mess it up or something? I’m not sure if that makes sense but he has one already so now I’m really nervous. Anyone know?

Call the place that you had your tattoo at and ask them to verify. Neither seem right to me.

If CPR is needed A= Airway, check first for obstruction, B= breathing, is the person breathing, look for rise and fall of chest. C=carotid pulse, check pulse, if none start compressions. It a check list to access what needs to be done in a emergency.

Question by : Buying/making a first aid kit?
I’m 15 and my friend is a cutter. She doesn’t know I know. I’m a recovered cutter, so I know the signs. Anyway, She’s coming over on wednesday, and I want to have a first aid kit just in case. I threw out all my old stuff, so I don’t have anything. Just in case something happens, I want to be prepared. Would anyone be suspicious if I bought one? If I decide to make one, what should be in it? Thanks.

well if they know your history of self harming if your buying equipment that most cutters would use people may worry you have started again but what you’d need depending on the seriousness of her self injury is -
Antiseptic (I swore by betadine) Band aids, Butterfly strips (I used to use these instead of getting stitches pretty much worked as well as them) Bandages, Towels (to put pressure on wound if it is bleeding a lot) Painkillers (can thin your blood so if it is a serious wound avoid taking)
And that should be really all you’d need. Try to get your friend to seek help and stop this behavior as it gets worse and the cuts get deeper and addiction is a b!tch.

You have it right there! If it would put the rescuer in any danger at all, you don’t do it. Also, if the person is clearly dead (ie. severed head). Lolz don’t use yahoo to do your homework for you!
