@lissahxox …..then kindly remove your offensive comment, it certainly looks out of place here.

I’ve dealt with ocd since i was 15, And unfortunately not everybody is understanding of what is going on. Most of the time people look at you like wtf is wrong with you?

She speaks the truth, I suffer from OCD and my family suffers with me. I wish there was a cure, but there isn’t. I take a generic form of Zoloft and it helps a bit , but some days are worse than others.

I’ve been suffering from OCD all my life, since I was a small child. Paxil has helped me a lot.

Hi, thanks for sharing. Have you tried Cognitive Behavioral Therapy with exposure and ritual prevention? It may help :o)

Hi, I really recommend reading about this disorder. I read quite a few books and they were quite informative and motivating. I know how hard this can be. I’ve watched people struggle with it and it can be so frustrating for the person. I do think the more you read and learn about the disorder, the more you realize you have control, then it’s a matter of really working to put yourself into action against it. I hope you will continue to try. Thanks for sharing :o)

I think I may have some form of OCD as I get ideas or thoughts in my head and then I can’t get them out again- things that I have to do. For example I could be taking a tissue out of the box but after I have I realize it didn’t come out straight or I didn’t hold the box or something like that and I think that I should have done so I’ll try to put the tissue back in and do it over or I’ll throw the tissue away and do it with a new one and then I’ll think of something else and it goes on and on.

Hi, thanks so much for sharing. I think you may be right, especially if this is causing you anxiety and interfering with your daily activities. If you want to know for sure, you can speak to someone who is a trained therapist in this area. You can get more information as I mentioned in the video from books and websites. I hope you will look into this more.

@YouTips4U Thank you so much for all your help and info it is very useful!! It does interfere with things as it takes so much longer to do stuff and I get very frustrated about it. I don’t have any of the cleanliness symptoms tho or anything like that so I am not sure but I will definitely look into it more thanks again!

Wow that’s was a great explanation.. but i still cannot differentiate OCD with OCPD. I am very cautious to my belongings. i take care of my stuff very extremely especially my electronic gadget.. if there smal/tiny scratch on my mobile phone, i would be very cautious and cannot stop thinking about it.. my mind would tell me to get a new gadget or replace the housing although i know it’s very unnecessary.. So do i have an OCD or OCPD? any self-help remedy that u suggest? thanks

Hi! My mom has ocd about the germ thing and takes pills. I think that I have genetically inherited it b/c I have it about death. I often think up and have this fantasy life in my head w/ someone in it who understands me and can give me comfort and relief when no one does around me. I am picked on and an outcast in everyday life and have had a papa have a massive heart attack and one die of 3 types of cancer in a dragged out death. All of this makes it hard to live w/.

I have told my youth pastor recently about my anxiety in a letter to him about something else and he said if I still have it he would like to get me someone to talk to.

Hi, OCD and OCPD do share some symptoms. I really didn’t go into OCPD in my videos. I was focusing on OCD. I did learn that one of the main differences between OCD and OCPD is people with OCD are often aware that their obsessions are abnormal, but are compelled to perform them anyway. People with OCPD, however, believe their need for strict order and very rigid rules in their lives is perfectly normal.

Hi, I’m glad you are speaking to someone about your anxieties. Do some reading on this subject as well, it will help you understand what you are experiencing and just how common it is. OCD can definitely run in families, so if your mom has it, it is very possible that you may suffer from it as well. Even though you both have different obsessions, you share the same illness. Thanks for sharing.

thanks for posting this vid. i’ve been scared of germs since i was in 7th grade but i was diagnosed with ocd now..im 17….people think i can just stop my handing washing and stop being afraid but i cant its hard. i have a therapist and she says the reason i developed ocd was to try to distract me from my major depressive disorder and ptsd. i wash my hands like crazy and am afraid in my own house. lol…i will also have someone to expose me to germs or something while working thru my ptsd. :)

I haven’t heard the rest of the videos like this one, but from what I’ve heard so far, this lady knows what she’s talking about. There’s people out there who think they know what OCD is, but they don’t know how bad it can get.
