I just found out that my best friend has asthma and I’m not sure what to do if she has an attack and there are no adults around (like at a sleep over and the parents are gone). Btw we are both 14.

If she has asthma, she has an inhaler which she uses when she is having trouble breathing. She can use this frequently when having trouble so you don’t have to do anything. The inhaler should take care of the problem and she should not sleep over at your house without bringing it with her because your house may have some allergens in it that she has not been exposed to in her own home and could cause problems.

Notify an adult or call 911. Asthma can, and often is, fatal. If she has an inhaler encourage her to use it as it was intended to be used.

For serious sudden asthma attack you should call 911.
However, there certain things she must do to avoid the above.
Do not stop taking the preventive medicine.
The inhaler must be with her wherever she go.
Avoid exercise or heavy activity that will trigger the attack.
Stay away from polluted, dusty, smoky and allergen environment.
