Im thinking of getting tooth caps?

All my life I have hated my teeth. They aren’t exactly the ugliest teeth you’ve seen, but they aint the prettiest. I’ve been denied twice for braces by my insurance company. And today i went to the dentist and they said I need to get surgery to fix an overbite. But I dont wanna go through with that. So Im thinking of just getting tooth caps over a couple of my teeth (5+), so does anybody know how much are dental caps? And how about the details of what they do to you.

Caps/crown are fairly expensive. They are generally 800 to 900 a cap. If you are having trouble with cost and insurance check out a dental discount plan. You they are fairly similar to insurance, but you can have one of those and an insurance at the same time. Usually you can not use them at the same time, but it can help if you hit the max on your insurance. You might also see if you can use a discount plan and you yourself file whatever you had to spend out of your pocket to your insurance… I know that has worked for some people. BUT they should be able to cut the price down quite a bit, and they do start immediately so that you can use them right away. Also, because of the way they are set up, there is no max on them so you can use them as much as you need to throughout the year.
As for the procedure itself it’s painless. They just file the teeth down some (you can’t feel it) and they put a crown or cap on top. You can’t really tell the difference between those and your normal teeth.
Hope that helps.
